Amarnath Yatra

Overview

The Amarnath Yatra, a trek begins in July-August. Despite being an extremely difficult trek, millions of devotees come to pay homage to Shiva in one of his Himalayan abodes.

*Day 1: Arrive Srinagar International Airport*

On arrival at Srinagar International Airport, you will be approached by one of our representative / driver cum guide. After a meet and greet, you will be transported for an eventful ride from Srinagar City. You will check in at the hotel. Time at leisure and you will be served with traditional Kashmiri Tea known as “Kehwa”.

Mughal Gardens

Besides the world famous Dal Lake Shikara ride, The Mughal Gardens are the best and most beautiful gardens in Kashmir which includes Shalimar Gardens, Nishat Garden and Cheshmashahi Garden. The Shalimar Garden is one of the largest gardens in Kashmir which was built by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir in the year 1619 A.D. Nishat Garden is also known as the “The Garden of Bliss” situated on the banks of the Picturesque Dal Lake, which was built by Mughal Emperor Asif Khan in the year 1633 AD. Cheshmashahi is a three terraced garden, which flows the Water of the Springs from the Zabarwan mountains.

A shikara ride (Boat Ride) is the best available option in the evening. You could see the floating market (Bazaar) and some interesting film shooting points. Char Chinar is an Island which is one of the major attractions in Dal Lake surrounded by four Chinar trees (Maple Tress) in the middle of the Dal Lake.

Day 2: Srinagar to Baltal
Besides Pahalgam (Chandanwari), the yatra is also undertaken, on a shorter route, from Baltal (Sonamarg), which is about 96 kms from Srinagar.

Day 3: Amarnath Yatra
A trek to Shri Amarnath ji, has the devout flock to this incredible shrine, where the image of Lord Shiva, in the form of a Lingam, is formed naturally of ice – stalagmite, and which waxes and wanes with the moon. By its side are, fascinatingly, two more ice – lingams, that of Goddess Parvati and of their son, Shri Ganesha. When people heard of the Lingam, it became an abode of Lord Bholenath for all believers and a pilgrimage which is done by lakhs of people each year. Children who are below the age of 11 years and persons above the age of 75 years will not be eligible to undertake the Amarnath Yatra.

Day 4: Baltal to Srinagar via Sonmarg
After the darshan, our driver will meet you at Baltal Taxi Stand and you will be escorted to Srinagar for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Srinagar airport for departure with happy and prosperous moments of Amarnath Darshan
